The Epiphany Festival

Andrew Jonathan Welch, Director

Epiphany Festival Choir

The Epiphany Festival invites you to sing with us as part of our third season! The choir will perform Gustav Holst’s meticulously crafted and emotionally compelling Cloud Messenger. Based on a 5th-century Sanskrit poem that Holst translated himself, the Cloud Messenger tells of an isolated man who wishes for a passing cloud to convey his ardent love to his distant wife. Complementing the program is the US premiere of Imogen Holst’s Three Psalms for chorus and small string orchestra, presented in a new critical edition from Faber music.

If you are interested in joining Andrew Jonathan Welch and the Epiphany Festival choir, please send an e-mail to GeorgetownEpiphanyFestival@gmail.com. Dues are $50 ($15 for students), and cover the cost of the rehearsal pianist and copies of the music, which may be picked up at the first rehearsal or mailed at an additional cost. You do not have to be available for all rehearsals in order to sing, but must be present for the dress rehearsal and performance.

Please RSVP by December 15th, 2024

All events take place at Westmoreland UCC in Bethesda. Parking is available on site and the church is accessible via bus.
